News from Mrs. Fullmer’s First Grade Class

December 5 - 9, 2011

Homework:

Homework packets are due Friday, December 9th. There are new directions for spelling!!   We will have our spelling test on December 9th.

 

Upcoming Events:

  • Book Fair Dec 5th-9th.  See white flyer in homework folder.
  • Canned Food Drive is going on now until Dec. 13th.
  • Dec 13th-Papa John’s Pizza night
  • Dec. 15th –Christmas Program
  • Spirit Day is Dec. 16th.  Hot chocolate will be sold.

 

Reading:  This week we will continue in unit 3: Things That Go (Transportation).  We will work on the sounds for f and e and review all short vowel sounds.  We will practice all our sight words, including our new ones; pulls, of, he, my, will, work and made. Please keep the decodable books that come home to reinforce the letters, sounds and sight words we have introduced and have your child read them frequently. 

 

Math: This week we will continue working with shapes.  We will focus on the idea of quilts and how they tie in with patterns.  The students will be making their own piece of a quilt. 

 

Christmas Concert

1st Grade-3rd Grade Christmas Concert

6:45pm doors open, 7:00pm concert begins

Roper Auditorium, Twin Falls High School

What they need to wear:

Boys: best shirt, button-down shirt and tie

Girls: best dress, or shirt and skirt

We will be practicing the concert during the day on the 15th at Roper Auditorium.  PLEASE return the white transportation form (stapled to the green reminder) as soon as possible.

 

Canned Food Drive

Going on NOW!!

This is a great opportunity to help support our community.  Please send any non-perishable or canned food items.  There is contest going on among the classes, but I really just want them to understand the power of giving at this time of year!
