3rd annual Mayor’s School Walking Challenge October 1-31, 2016
Winning school will receive a $3,000 cash prize!
October is WALKtober and Idaho elementary schools are invited to participate in a walking challenge to encourage kids to make healthy choices!
The school with the highest average number of miles per student will win $3,000 for physical activity equipment and food service equipment! In addition to the overall mileage winner, there will be eight regional competition groups. The school in each group with the highest average miles walked per student will win $2,000!
Schools will log student miles walked from Monday, October 3, 2016 through Monday, October 31, 2016.
Mayors from throughout Southwest and South Central are participating in their own walking challenge in October. The goal is to encourage elected officials to model healthy behavior for schoolchildren in their communities.
