Map of elementary school attendance zones

During last night’s School Board meeting, the Board approved new attendance zones that will reassign Bickel Elementary students to Oregon Trail, Lincoln, and Morningside Elementary Schools starting in the next school year (2025-26). This decision followed thorough consideration and a review of community feedback, aiming to balance enrollment across our schools and ensure that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

We understand that moving to a new school is a significant transition for students and families, and we are dedicated to making this process as seamless as possible. Here’s what you can expect in the upcoming months:

  • School Assignments: A map of the new attendance zones is included to help families understand the changes. If you have questions about your child’s school assignment for the 2025-26 school year, please contact any TFSD school or the district office for assistance.

  • Transition Support: Oregon Trail, Lincoln, and Morningside elementary schools will provide opportunities for students and parents to visit their new schools, meet teachers and staff, and familiarize themselves with the new environment. You can contact your child’s new school to schedule an individual tour at your convenience.

  • Transportation: Bus routes will be shared over the summer, and we encourage all families to complete the returning student information update so that we know if their child needs transportation services.

  • Support for Students: Our counselors and staff are available to help students adjust and answer any questions they may have about the transition. Additionally, the receiving schools will be open for tours, allowing families to visit and get comfortable with their new school community before the school year begins.

We recognize that this news may bring a mix of emotions, and we want to assure you that we are here to support your family every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we navigate this transition together.
