In 3rd grade music class this week we reviewed a song from 2nd grade called "Great Big House." We used this song to practice a new way to keep steady beat on our alto xylophones. This pattern also prepares us for a trickier pattern later this year! Stay tuned for a musical update from a single grade level each week!

Ms. Oberg’s class has kicked off our new math unit! Our Number Corner theme for the month of September is apples. Today during our math workshop we found ways to count and sort sticks and worked to share our ideas with each other. For our art project we made an apple tear art to hang in the classroom for the month focusing on our fine motor skills!

Mrs. Tubbs' class had so much fun with their Ocean Animal LEGO Challenge! 🌊🧱 Students guessed their mystery animal, created their own unique design, followed the instructions to build the real animal, and researched facts about it. Best of all, each student got to take their LEGO animal home! 🐠🐙🦈

Students in Ms. Blair’s class are doing hard work. The little learners are working on cooperative play while also becoming familiar with a variety of math manipulatives. We are already measuring, comparing, patterning, building 3D shapes, and they don’t even know it… yet!

We had our first FUNctional Friday of the year! Each student will have a FUNctional Friday journal that we will write in each week to then take home at the end of the year.
Today we worked hard on writing, finding, and talking with our friends about our names. After listening to the book, “Chrysanthemum”, we walked the room to find our name before graphing how many letters are in each name. Thank you to our visitors from the district office who joined us today!

This week we kicked off a new program, Lego Group, in Ms. Oberg’s room! Lesson one was all about sorting. We learned the definition, shared ways to sort items, and even found things that are already sorted with visuals in the classroom. Students worked together to sort items in all different ways.

Congratulations, Ms. Seamon's Kindergarten class, for being our first "What's This Song?!?" Wednesday winners! Students and teachers listened to part of a song played during the morning announcements, and they needed to respond with the correct title AND be the seventh correct response this week to win. The song heard this week was "I Will Always Love You" written and performed by the late, great Dolly Parton.

In 4th grade Music class, we learned a new song and game called "Black Snake." Students had a blast passing and trying to hide black snake as the student in the middle tried to guess who was hiding them after our song was done. Don't tell your students, but this song is also getting students' ears ready for new 4th grade rhythms! Stay tuned for a musical update from a single grade level each week!
