On Wednesday in Mrs. Ferrara's class, Jaxon's mom came in to discuss spina bifida. We learned about what spina bifida is, how it is caused, and the treatment for the condition. We also learned about the challenges that people with spina bifida face, as well as the amazing opportunities Jaxon has had with some accommodations to the activities he loves! Students then participated in tasks in which they could feel the challenges a person with spina bifida can face. Thank you, Mrs. Palmer, for this amazing presentation!

Mrs. Tubbs and her students had such a fun morning! They participated in show and tell, morning meeting, and a project! Our student photographer enjoyed her time visiting second grade and wrote several times, "It's a hat, it's a boat, I think it's both." We love Mrs. Tubbs and the time she puts into her classroom. It sounds like Mrs. Hill and her students had a great start to their day! They talked about distractions, examples of distractions, and had a great conversation about why it is hard to learn with distractions around us. A video from Mrs. Willsey was watched and they talked about different ways to control their bodies throughout the day. If you haven't met Mrs. Hill, you are missing out. Week 8! We are so lucky to get snacks delivered to our classrooms several times a week and we are even luckier to have such amazing lunch ladies. This week was full of testing, lockdown drills, school wide expectations, partner work, fun in P.E., and accidental twinning.

Ms. Denny started out her morning talking about what the day would look like, including the lockdown drill that would take place this afternoon. Then they took some time to watch Mrs. Willsey's Morning Meeting lesson on Listening vs. Talking. There was a book that was read aloud, as well as a conversation about the importance of listening. This led perfectly into students moving to the carpet for their read aloud and conversations about the characters in the read aloud. Week 7 was full of dress up days, lesson study with our Region 4 Math Specialist, drawings from a finished novel, Hannah saving the day on the playground, and the Twin Falls High School Parade! What a great week!
